Another Shelter Dog Helped by K-9 PALS
Poor PENNY...Imagine how it would be to be a tiny 8 pound dog and wake up one day in the County shelter kennel with a temperature of 94 degrees, lethargic, and very dehydrated. What happened? County shelter staff did not know and needed emergency hospital care for her. So the shelter supervisor asked K-9 PALS to step in. K-9 PALS paid for emergency hospital care, medical treatments, and diagnostics to find out what was wrong with Penny so she could get healthy again. Because of help from K-9 PALS, PENNY's life was saved ! She is now on on the road to recovery.
You can help PENNY by donating to K-9 PALS. Your Donations will go towards helping PENNY and other homeless shelter dogs in need. DONATE by PayPal, or send donations to K-9 PALS, P.O. Box 60755, Santa Barbara, CA 93160-0755.
Nellie's Heartwarming Story
Little 6-month-old Chihuahua mix, Nellie, was wandering alone in Santa Barbara, badly injured after being hit by a car. She was found by a good Samaritan who took her to CARE Hospital for immediate care, and then turned over to the SBCAS shelter. SBCAS does not have budget for medical care other than routine exams, vaccines, and daily care that can be done in a shelter, so the shelter supervisor called upon K-9 PALS to help Nellie to provide the extensive orthopedic surgery and medical care.
K-9 PALS scheduled the surgery and located a long-time K-9 PALS medical foster family. K-9 PALS paid for surgery and will cover all related medical costs for little Nellie, estimated to be about $3,000.
Nellie’s recovery from major orthopedic surgery is going well. The foster family reports that she is shy, but playful, agile, quick, and almost dances even with a hurt leg. At only 10 pounds, very petite and long-legged, she could have a little Italian Greyhound in her ancestry. Nellie is crate-trained, is working on potty-training, and enjoys a nyla bone while she passes the time.
How you can help Nellie:
1) Donate to K-9 PALS so that they can continue to help Nellie and other homeless dogs. Online or send your tax-deductible donation to P.O. Box 60755, Santa Barbara, CA 93160-0755
2) Complete a no-obligation adoption application to be in line when Nellie becomes available for adoption to her forever home.
