Free Professional Dog Training for adopted dogs!
If you adopt a dog from a shelter, humane society, or rescue group, and live in Santa Barbara County, you are eligible for this great offer!

Ginger Too
Ginger II met the nice woman, and both of them were convinced. Ginger only had to win over the nice man, and she would be out of there. She did everything right, as is her habit, and with a smile here, a wiggle there, a lovely lean and gaze into his eyes, he was hooked. Off the three went to her forever home. Happy Tails to you, Ginger!
Ziggy
Ziggy surprised those of us who didn't know...a wonderful couple, and long time "big dog walker" volunteers, were fans of smaller dogs in their home. ZIP - Ziggy went to visit. ZAP went their hearts. Ziggy is staying! He has a built-in playmate and two great people to love him. Happy Tails to you, Ziggy!
Arlo
Arlo is set for summer and set for life. A dynamic duo of Mother and Daughter have taken Arlo into their hearts, home, and a yard with a swimming pool! First step - safety training; second step - maybe laps in the pool for burning off this cute boy's abundant energy? Happy Tails to you, Arlo!
Phillip
Cute little Phillip wasn't at the shelter very long before he caught the eye of a family looking for the perfect cuddly lap dog. Phillip was the perfect fit and went home with all sorts of great new gear they bought for him, including a soft dog carrier that matched his pretty palomino-colored fur. Happy Tails to you Phillip!
Doogie
Doogie, about the cutest mix of beagle and lab you've ever seen, has gone home with a great young couple who have searched for just the right fellow to complete their home. Doogie - perfect - happy - YES! Happy Tails to you, Doogie!
Kira
Kira had options - would it be a Shiba Inu rescue or a terrific volunteer and her husband? No contest! This cutie came out of her shell, looked up at the couple, and plainly demonstrated she wanted to stay with them, right here in town. They felt the same, so now the family is complete. Happy Tails to you, Kira!

Oscar
Oscar, our Shihtsu ball of fur and love, went home with a lovely couple who had been looking for just the right dog for some time. After meeting several candidates at our shelter, Oscar won their hearts. Happy Tails to you Oscar!
Dusty
Dusty is one of those dogs everyone wants -- a friendly, good-looking, well-socialized young Golden Retriever mix (5 mos. or so). So when Adam came in and fell in love with Dusty, it wasn't a surprise that there was already someone in line ahead of him to adopt.

But karma has its way of working itself out.

It turns out that Adam was one of the paramedics on the scene when Micah, our much loved kennel attendant, was hit by a train in Dec. 2009. We are all so grateful that Adam was there for Micah at such a horrible time. When Adam came to the shelter he recognized Micah and they were reunited for a really nice reason this time. The family in line ahead of Adam for Dusty decided to adopt another dog. So it worked out for Adam, whose work is saving human lives and helped to save our friend, that he could adopt the dog of his dreams.

Adam's close friends adopted a K-9 PALS pupppy last year,"Little Man". So now Dusty and Little Man will be play pals while Adam is at work. So it's turned out to be a very special Happy Tail for everyone!

Link
Link went to a wonderful couple that had been looking for just the right dog for quite some time. They were giving up hope until they met our handsome and sweet boy. He has a lovely disposition, likes people and is very patient and calm. He is enjoying the good life with two long walks each day, and a lovely back yard to romp and play in. Happy Tails to you Link!
